Fury MMA Heavyweight champion has signed what is believe to be a multi-fight deal with BAMMA, and will make is BAMMA debut at BAMMA 21. The promotion announced the signing earlier today via social media:
BAMMA 21 takes place on June 13, at Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena and features two title fights which will see Andy Devent relinquish his British Longsdale Middleweight title to face rising French prospect Cheick Kone for the vacant BAMMA World Middleweight title, and former Belllator heavyweight Mark Godbeer take on Paul Taylor for the vacant BAMMA World Heavyweight title.
Fighting out of Combat Sports Academy, 7-4 Dayman Lake is one of the best known heavyweights in UK MMA having fought for the likes of Cage Warriors, UCMMA, Made 4 the Cage, and Fury MMA. A pro since 2011, Lake hold notable wins over WSOF and Pro Elite vet Jake Heun and Tomasz Czerwinski who he defeated to win the Fury MMA Heavyweight title.
An exciting fighter, Lake has never gone the distance in any of his seven victory with six submissions and one TKO. He enters BAMMA 21 on the back of a win over Martin Kemp at last weeks UCMMA 43 to extend his current run to 4-1 with his only loss coming to number 1 ranked UK Heavyweight James Mulheron.
While Lake's BAMMA 21 opponent has yet to be confirmed, he will no doubt have his eye on the winner of Godbeer and Taylor who fight for the vacant heavyweight title when he fights at BAMMA 21, especially if Paul Taylor was to win, a man he was schedule to fight previously in UCMMA.
