Following the announcement today that the UFC have signed one of the UK's top prospects Tom Breese (7-0), Kingdom MMA thought it would be a good idea to put the question "How far can Tom Breese go in the UFC"? to some of the top UK MMA media.

Tom Breese has showcased unreal talent on the UK circuit. His impressive undefeated record of seven wins with six subs says it all, this guy comes to finish. He has locked in many rear naked choke's and i fully expect him to carry that streak into the UFC, he's a real star. The fascinating thing is, he's been a pro since 2010, had a greatly experienced amateur career before that, a gruesome ACL injury which required surgery and is still only 23. Furthermore, the Birmingham native fights and trains out of the legendary Tristar gym in Canada under coaches Firas Zahabi and Eric O'Keefe alongside two of the best welterweights in the world, Georges St. Pierre and Rory Macdonald. People may question his small number of wins and inactivity recently but he makes up for it by training at such a renowned gym and one things for sure, if he wasn't ready, I seriously doubt Tristar would send him into the deep end like that. I believe Breese can be one of the UK's great hopes of a title in the future if he can carry his impressive performances over to the UFC ranks.

Heading to the UFC with just seven professional bouts worth of experience is a tough ask at the best of times. Thankfully over the past few years Tom Breese has endured the worst of times - a severe injury at a critical point in his development - and emerged unscathed. While he may lack the cage time of fellow UFC acquisition Nicholas Dalby, Breese's high-level training set-up will leave him no less prepared. Whispers indicate that he can hang with the best, but then they always do. The proof of the pudding is in the eating; Tom Breese has never looked anything less than capable of chewing up any man put in front of him. There are too many variables to accurately predict how far someone can or will go, but I envision a long and storied career in the top flight for this young man.

To gage how far Tom Breese can go you have to look past the fighters on the UFC's roster and more towards why Tom has been signed despite his long injury lay off.
The kid's a talent no doubt, a career threatening injury but he came back and although he looked like he was still adjusting in his first CW fight back, the glimmer of specialness is still there.
Training at Tristar with Zahabi, GSP and Red King he has done what a lot of UK talents often fail to realise. Moving to a world camp. He's a superb striker and an even better grappler. If you ever wanted to pin hopes on a British champion, "Fearless" is your man.

Tom Breese is one of the most dedicated athletes you could ever come across. His passion for the sport is unquestionable, and his talent has long been spoken about in UKMMA circles. He has persevered through injury and come back to the sport as if he never left. Tom has the tools and the youth to have a long career in the UFC. I would suggest he can crack the top 15 in his first 18-24 months and from there who knows how far he can take it!
