Brendan Loughnane (8-1) makes his promotional debut this Saturday at BAMMA 17 in Manchester in what is also to be his first fight at 145 lbs. Since his stint on TUF and fight against Mike Wilkinson in the TUF finale, Loughnane plied his trade in one of the biggest domestic UK MMA shows, Full Contact Contender.
Loughnane became their lightweight champion and successfully defended it against Ali McClean with a sensational knockout back in October at FCC 10.
He was signed to BAMMA soon after and matched up against Zi Shah but due to injury Shah was forced to withdraw and french man Florian Rousseau (5-2) was drafted in. Despite the late change, Loughnane is still fired up ahead of the clash
"I don't know anything about this guy I'm fighting, it's been all over the place lately with pull outs but I've trained for this consistently and its still the same game plan, I'm going to come in and try knock his head off"
With BAMMA constantly growing, it's clear to see that the highly rated featherweight is part of the most exciting division in the promotion which features fighters such as Mike Grundy, Greg Severs, Andy Craven and the champion, Tom Dequesnoy. The latter is someone who Loughnane has his sights set on in the near future
"He seems very dynamic, I think if I can get a win or two together me and him will be a great fight"
