Mansour Barnaoui Ready to Defend Title Against Andre Winner
by Chris Houten - @mrhoutsBAMMA.com |
Andre Winner, who has previous challenged for the BAMMA lightweight title spoke about a potential bout with Barnaoui in a post fight media scrum following his victory over Fletcher, which you can watch here, he said:
"I thought it was a title eliminator, so I am assuming I am going to get Mansour."
It appears as if Winner's assumptions were right, with Barnaoui taking to Twitter to say he is ready to face Winner, an opponent he has previous called out in the past:
@BAMMA @AndreWinner @EFNSports Mansour Barnaoui vs andre winner makes sense now so let's do it! 13th June I am in!

Widely considered one of the best lightweight prospects in Europe, Barnaoui won the BAMMA Lightweight World Title by defeating Curt Warburton by TKO at BAMMA 13. He defended his belt with a submission win over Colin Fletcher at BAMMA 14 but has not fought since with rumours of contract disputes, and injuries keeping him out of action. Barnaoui who is 11-2 in his professional career is scheduled to face Maxim Divnich at M-1 Challenge 57 on May, 2 looks as if he is keen to stay extremely active calling for a fight with Winner on BAMMA 21 which takes place six weeks later. Winner however is scheduled to face Charlie Leary in a K-1 bout at Phoenix Fight Night 26 the same evening as BAMMA 21 so the fight may have to take place further down the line.
