Eddie Alvarez out of Benson Henderson fight in Boston, Cowboy Cerrone replaces him

Just released by UFC president Dana White via his Facebook, Eddie Alvarez is out of his co-main event fight with Benson Henderson at UFC Fight Night: Boston and Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone has stepped in to take his place.

Cerrone (25-6) put in a stellar performance this past weekend at UFC 182 as he dominated the previously undefeated prospect Myles Jury in a unanimous decision victory. In typical Cerrone fashion he claimed he was eager to get back into the cage as soon as physically possible citing Denver as the card he was interested in fighting on.

Having being pictured in Zuffa offices this morning seemingly thrashing out details of a new fight, is it now clear who he will be facing as he squares off against former UFC Lightweight champion Benson Henderson (21-4). Henderson is coming off of a TKO loss to the #1 contender Rafael Dos Anjos and will be looking to bounce back against an in form Cerrone in Boston in a card which is set to be headlined by Conor McGregor as he takes on Dennis Siver.
