Cody Bollinger has took to Twitter to confirm he has been released for World Series of Fighting, a move he appears to have wanted:

A contestant on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter, Bollinger failed to make weight for his elimination fight against Anthony Gutierrez and was removed from the show and therefore not offered a UFC contract when the season ended. Following his removal from TUF 18, Bollinger signed for the World Series of Fighting defeating Tyson Nam at WOSF 8 by unanimous decision.

Bollinger failed to make weight in his second bout at WSOF 11 where he defeated Pablo Alfonso by first round Rear Naked Choke.

In his final bout for the promotion Bollinger filled in on short notice for Josh Hill who pulled out of his WSOF 13 bout with Marlon Moraes due to injury. With the bout taking place on short notice a catchweight of 140 pounds was agree, however Bollinger came in at a massive 7lbs over, nearly causing the promotion the cancel the fight completely. The 23-year old went on the lose the fight by 2nd round Rear Naked Choke.

Bollinger last fought in November defeating 0-4 Alexander Moses. He won't be the first fighter to have clashed with WSOF match maker Ali Abdelaziz with Josh Burkman, Rousimar Palhares, and Melvin Guillard all having public spats with Abdelaziz. At 18-4 and with notable victories over Tyson Nam, and Camerom Dollar, Bollinger could be an interesting acquisition for a promotion who can forgive him weight issues.
