Andy Craven says has 'sacrificed' a lot for upcoming BAMMA 17 bout against Greg Severs

Andy Craven states he has 'sacrificed' a lot for his upcoming featherweight showdown against Greg Severs which goes down at BAMMA 17, December 6 from the Manchester Victoria Warehouse.

Craven (4-0) and Severs (5-0) were scheduled to meet at BAMMA 16, but Severs was forced to pull out three days before the fight with injury, and the Fight Ministry man said his opponent's withdrawal out really affected him emotionally.

"I scarified a lot of things," said Craven "I'm not going to go out there and say Kaobon are this, that and the other, I just think the situation could have been handled better.

"The thing is on the previous BAMMA before that I was supposed to fight Andy Green from HAMMA in Manchester and he fell ill and I got a pull out then, then this followed and it was just an extremely frustrating time.

"The fact is, we've all heard about it in MMA, you've only got so many training camps in your career and essentially I've potentially just wasted two when I could have been on my way to bigger and better things by now had I not had these set backs"

Despite this being a long time in the waiting, Craven still suggests that he knows Greg will be his toughest test to date, and that he has been on his radar for some time: "I'd be disappointed if it wasn't that way, I'd hate to feel like I was taking any step backwards with my opponents and I always want my opponent to be better than my previous.

"I've watched him fight at BAMMA a while ago in Liverpool and he was potentially going to be on the radar from then onwards, any featherweight you've got to be looking at as potential opponent., immediately then I was keeping my eye on him and what he was doing.

"There's no genuine bad blood between us both to be honest. I was just very frustrated with the way things played out. I don't hate the guy I was just pissed off how it all went down."
