Three fights you don't want to miss this weekend

By Alex Dillon @ADillon__

This weekend see's a stacked UFC Fight Night card take place in Austin,Texas and is set to be headlined by featherweights Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson. There is a feature lightweight co-main event between Bobby Green and Edson Barboza as well as a flyweight clash between Brad Pickett and Chico Camus. Elsewhere, grappling super event Metamoris holds its 5 installment on the same day with Renzo Gracie vs Kazushi Sakuraba facing off in the main event and UFC welterweight contender Rory Macdonald facing JT Torres. Here are the three fights you don't want to miss this weekend.

Frankie Edgar (17-4-1) vs Cub Swanson (21-5)

This fight is unmissable for a number of reasons, First off, both guys bring it every time they fight inside the octagon, we are pretty much guaranteed a great scrap based solely on that. What's more there are significant title implications on the line either fighter are they each arguably, one big win away from a shot at Jose Aldo's featherweight crown. With standout featherweight Conor McGregor seemingly closing in on a title shot, a 'standard' win may not be enough for Frankie or Cub come Saturday night so to get their shot at the belt they may need a super impressive performance to convince the UFC hierachy. With these points in mind, expect this fight to live up to its main event billing come Saturday.

Renzo Gracie vs Kazushi Sakuraba (Metamoris 5)

These two fighters have met previously as they once were foes in an MMA bout where Sakuraba famously submitted Gracie at Pride 10 back in 2000. With wins over four different Gracie's, Sakuraba was dubbed the Gracie Killer as he out matched them all on the ground to fans amazement. This time they will face off on the mats as they take part in Metamoris' 5th show in a main event feature grappling contest. For any self confessed MMA addict who wouldn't want to watch this? yes it's not an MMA fight but it's two legends going at it again in a grappling match which happens to be both fighters strength so you can be assured they will both be on their a game in a bid to beat the other. These two will put on a grappling clinic Saturday and it's one not to be missed.

Bobby Green (23-5) vs Edson Barboza (14-2)

This lightweight showdown is set to be the co-main event for the Austin fight night card and what a fight it could turn out to be. Both are in a position in the UFC's most stacked division where a win could seriously propel either into the contenders spots with names such as Nate Diaz, Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos. Green has somewhat gone under the radar with his impressive eight win streak which at this stage of his career, really cannot be ignored. His last victory came over Josh Thomson albiet controversially, it was a huge victory for the 28 year old. Barboza famous for his spinning kick on the UK's Terry Etim comes into this fight on the back of a first round TKO finish over Evan Dunham back in July of this year. There has been trash talk from both camps in the build up to this fight which only adds more fire to the scrap and with Barboza always looking to for the finish and Green itching to another big name to his resume, it's really worth tuning in for this one Saturday.
