UFC 183 is coming together quickly, headlined by Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz, and now joined by a stand-out lightweight bout as Joe Lauzon (24-9) meets 'Raging' Al Iaquinta (10-3-1) on January 31st in Las Vegas.
'J-Lau' will be heading into his 18th UFC bout on the back of two wins over Mac Danzig and Michael Chiesa. Lauzon was set to face Diego Sanchez at UFC 180, but both fighters suffered injuries which led to the fight being scrapped.
A high-rising prospect from the Serra-Longo Fight Team, Iaquinta is also coming off of two impressive wins, including a victory over top contender Ross Pearson. A win over a vet like Pearson opened up a lot of new options for Iaquinta and he now has a chance to take out one of the division's most accomplished fighters, as he continues his climb up the lightweight ladder.
