Light-heavyweight contenders Alexander "The Mauler" Gustafsson and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson had interesting things to day about each other during the UFC Stockholm media day at the Tele2 Arena this past week.

The pair will meet on Saturday 24th January in Stockholm, Sweden in front of more than 30,000 fans at the Tele2 Arena in a fight that has been described as pivotal for both men's career, with a shot at the 205lb divisional gold at stake.

No. 1 ranked Gustafsson said: “It doesn’t get better than this. I’m living the dream. I’m fighting in my hometown, and I’m fighting for my hometown. Preparation is going well already. I have got a great team around me. But he's strong, he's a great fighter and I have a lot of respect for him as a fighter. I have to be on my game and better than before.

“My fans mean everything to me. I thank them for the support. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them.”

Johnson, ranked number three,  has also shared his excitement at being involved in the second bigger UFC event in the promotion's 20 year history: “It's an honour to be able to fight in front of so many people. The arena is beautiful. In the US we have maybe 8-12 thousand people and it's a great atmosphere, so this – 30,000 - is going to be something else.

“Camp is going well” he said. “By January 24, I'll be in excellent, perfect shape. I'm not fighting 30,000 people; I'm fighting one man.”

Tickets for the historic UFC FIGHT NIGHT: GUSTAFSSON vs. JOHNSON event will be available to the general public on Friday, Nov. 28 via AXS.com/UFC.
