Paul Daley on K-1 World Max Finals Win "Sometimes You Got to Show Technique, and Sometimes you just gotta FIGHT"

While Daley might not be happy with his performance, Ghaedibardeh represented a step up in competition compared to the other opponents Daley has face this year. While Ghaedibardeh was able to keep Daley at bay with kicks in round 1 to take the round, Daley came out strong dropping Ghaedibardeh twice in round 2 and once in round 3 to take a clear decision and to leave Ghaebibardeh visible damaged."Not happy with my performance, at all. But at least I won, although it feels personally that I've lost, as the intention was to show clean technique and combinations.....this just wasn't the opponent for that."
"An extremely difficult guy to fight with good timing and distance.....every time threw those kicks they FUCKING hurt........BUT, I found a way, I had faith, I turned it into a fight, I had faith, threw those power shots....I had faith.....I turned it into a scrap.....and won.....I had faith."
"Sometimes you got to show technique......and sometimes you just gotta FIGHT"
The win over Ghaedibardeh is Daley's 6 win in kickboxing in 2014, with 5 of his wins coming by knockout. Daley will now hope his win over Ghaedibarbeh will lead to a K-1 title shot in the promotions new 80kg division, but first he will make his return to MMA and Bellator against an as-yet unannounced opponent later in the year.
