Martin "50 Cal" Stapleton Vs. Jeremy "Ninja" Petley (Lightweight)
Stapleton who defeated Bulgarian Kostadin Enev at Full Contact Contender 11 this past weekend is one of the UKs standout MMA Lightweight competitors and currently trains out of SBG Mainline in Manchester under Karl Tanswell. He now sports a record of 14-4 with 5 T/KOs, 4 Subs and 5 Decisions.
Stapleton had the following to say on signing with BAMMA and his upcoming bout with Petley:
"Jeremy is an extremely skilled, athletic guy who has shown he is skilled in every aspect of Mixed Martial Arts. I like the fact that he comes out to fight and I think it will make for fight of the night for sure!
I don't really concentrate on opponents though so I’m gonna be looking to stop this guy just like any other!! The fact that the Fight is in Manchester is gonna make for a tough night for him, the crowd that myself and the other local guys like Kane bring has got to be the best crowd in UKMMA right now so it’s gonna be a big night!"
And on his decision to sign with BAMMA:
"I've had a lot of offers come in but BAMMA put together a good plan for me which gave me confidence that they are going to keep me busy. I've worked with Chris Zorba in the past and i felt that he and the rest of the guys at BAMMA recognised my value that I'll bring to the promotion. BAMMA gave me a breakdown of the events they have planned for next year and it was something i wanted to be involved in!"
London Fight Factory’s Jeremy "Ninja" Petley returns to the BAMMA cage for the first time since defeating Richie Downes at BAMMA11. He now brings a record of 10-5-0.
Also recently signing a multi-fight deal with BAMMA he had this to say on the upcoming fight with Stapleton:
"I feel very excited and thankful to be back home fighting for BAMMA again. I'm looking forward to getting down to work and making a stamp in this lightweight division. I'll be making it very clear in my first fight that I am coming after that title. I will have that belt around my waist."
