On Friday evening Cage Warriors will return to Amman, Jordan for Cage Warriors 71. This event was originally scheduled to take place in Stockholm, Sweden before the SMMAF ruled that most of the fighters on the card did not meet the criteria to be licenced and so the event was moved. Friday also marks the return of Arnold Allen who will return to action for Cage Warriors for the first time since losing at Cage Warriors 69 in June. Ahead of that fight, we caught up with him to discuss his fight, Super Saturday, the SMMAF as well as much more.

Ben: Hi Arnold, Thank you for your time ahead of your fight. I spoke to you after your last fight at CWFC 69 (which can be seen here) and you said that you came in over confident and let the hype get to you. Having had time now to reflect more on the fight do you still feel the same?
Allen: I feel a little differently about it now, I've had time to think about it, I still feel I was over confident though.

Ben: After the fight did you sit down with head coach Jack Mason and watch back that last fight to highlight areas to work on or have you not watched it back?
Allen: We haven't sat down together and watched it but we've spoke about it, I've watched the fight a few times as well.

Ben: How have you been preparing for this fight mentally to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again?
Allen: I feel a lot more focused this time round, I won't be having another lazy performance like last time.

Ben: Since that fight have you been working on any specific parts of your game and have you been training with the usual guys or have you travelled to gain more experience training with others?
Allen: I haven't changed much in my game as I don't think my skill set was the problem in my last fight, just wasn't in the right mind set that I'm usually in on fight night, and yeah I've been training with the same guys still.

Ben: Originally this event was due to take place in Stockholm but due to issues with the SMMAF was moved to Jordan. Were you going to be fighting on the event in Sweden or was it not until the event was moved that you got asked to fight?
Allen: I was scheduled to fight in Sweden.

Ben: What are your thoughts about what happened in Sweden regarding CWFC and the SMMAF including how crazy it was that Jack Mason was refused a licence to fight there?
Allen: I don't know too much about it but it's a huge shame it would have been cool to compete in a new country and I understand why they wouldn't approve Jack to fight as he does lack experience as a professional fighter.

Ben: Now let's look ahead to your upcoming fight. How excited are you to get back in the cage this next you?
Allen: This is my most important fight to date, I'm very excited to get back in the cage but more excited to get back in the win column.

Ben: You are fighting Saief Toumy, did you know anything about him when you was given his name and what do you know about him now?
Allen: I didn't know anything but we've seen some footage and he has a good record as well, it will be a tough challenge, but I'm more than up for it.

Ben: You are fighting back in Jordan for the third time in 9 months, I've heard you are a bit of a star over in Jordan, how does it feel to be back fighting over there?
Allen: All in 9 months, I didn't realise it was in that short space of time. I love it there, the people there really get behind the fighters and create an amazing atmosphere, the public weigh ins last time were crazy!

Ben: How far before the fight will you be flying out to acclimatise and start to prepare for the weight cut?
Allen: We fly out on Tuesday which is more than enough time.

Ben: Cage Warriors have just announced that in November they will be holding an event at the Copper box in the Olympic park? Is this a venue which interests you and makes you want to fight here?
Allen: That would be an awesome venue to fight at I'd love to fight there!

Ben: Would you like to thank anyone?
Allen: I'd like to thank all my team/sponsors and family for all of the help and support once again.
