Warrior Fight Series take another step towards solidifying themselves as one of the best up and coming brands in UK MMA as they announce the main event for their next show WFS 3, Jake Bostwick vs. Dwayne Hinds in an international welterweight bout.
Bostwick fights out of Team Titan and Double K Gym, holding a record of 15-8-0 (1NC), coming into the fight on an 8-fight streak. With his last three fights being on Cage Warriors, the man that goes by the nickname “Brutal” is exactly that when he steps into the cage with his 20+ fight experience, so the thrill of fighting at the York Hall certainly wont get the better of him. Also known for his entrance to the cage, when he dresses as Bane, Bostwick not only awes the fans with his fists, but he offers the full entertainment package. Win, lose, or draw, everyone in the UK and worldwide knows that if Bostwick is on the fight card, he’s probably going to be one half of the Fight Of The Night.
Bostwick had this to say about his WFS Debut:
“Fighting on WFS will be a new experience for me. I have been to the last couple shows and the events are well ran and always have a great atmosphere, so I’m looking forward to being a part of this. It’s still a new promotion and making my debut at the renowned York Hall in Bethnal Green just shows what they’re about. When it comes down to my opponent Dwayne Hinds, I am looking forward to fighting him! Dwayne seems to bring it to the fight and I think he will make for an interesting match up. I just know I will be bringing it 100% and hope my international opponent does the same, as I want to make it a night to remember for everyone viewing.”
Relatively unknown to UK fight fans, Dwayne “Punie” Hinds is a very worthy challenger for Bostwick with a record of 10-1. Hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, and easily one of the best martial artist to come out of the Caribbean, he has previously fought on ONE FC, as well as Clan Wars where he defeated Henry Fadipe. In his last bout he took the first loss of his career after 10 straight wins, so he is eager to get back to winning ways and what better way to make a statement than to take out one of the most feared welterweights in the UK today on away soil. Unlike his opponent, the former national judo champion had very little to say about the fight other than:
“I look forward to fighting a very game opponent and am always excited about fighting in the UK. Get ready for a war, hope you enjoy the show. Boom bang!”
Promoter Harry Shoebridge said of the fight: “Signing ONE FC fighter Dwayne Hinds is a huge achievement for Warrior Fight Series. To have him take on a huge UK name in Jake Bostwick, a Cage Warriors veteran, really shows what direction WFS are heading in. As we have already announced, we have secured London’s iconic fight venue, York Hall and this is just a small statement of what we are about to do on the UK MMA scene. Thanks to everyone who has shown their support on the birth of WFS and what continues to be one of the fastest growing brands in the UK.”
