They say everythings bigger in Texas, and this event typically lives up to that. With two title fights and a massive welterweight encounter heading the card, this certainly has the makings of a top PPV. Let's take a look!
Chris Cariaso v Henry Cejudo
After failing to make weight for his flyweight debut last year, Cejudo gets another chance on Sunday. The former Olympic Gold medalist absolutely annihilated Dustin Kimura (albeit at bantamweight) so it'll be interesting to see him at a lighter weight. Cariaso, meanwhile comes off a loss to Demetrious Johnson and looks to bounce straight back into the win colomn. Expect to see him keep the fight standing, although after Cejudo's last outing he'll be wise to be wary of the youngsters striking
Prediction: Cejudo by unanimous decision
Alistair Oveerem v Roy Nelson
Simple, this one. Both lost 3 of last 5. Both have explosive power, particularly Nelson. But Overeem has a very questionable chin. Simply put, first person to land a bomb will (probably) win.Prediction: Nelson by knockout
Matt Brown v Jonny Hendricks
These two have things in commen, mainly they both come into this fight off of losses to Robbie Lawler. So now they're looking to throw themselves back into title contention. Both have knockout power, but Hendricks also has high level wrestling credentials that I expect he'll look at using to keep Brown subdued, if this fight doesn't descend into an all-out brawl before then.Prediction: Hendricks by split decision
WOMANS STRAWWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
(c) Carla Esparza v Joanna Jedrzejczyk
The first defence of the strawweight title is the co-main event. The Polish challenger isn't known as a finisher, whilst Esparza has finished three of her last five. I believe that Esparza's history of high level competition will ensure we don't see an upset here.Prediction: Esparza by unanimous decision
LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
(c) Anthony Pettis v Rafael dos Anjos
Dos Anjos has looked impressive recently, especially in finishing Benson Henderson. Certainly it caught the attention of the human highlight reel that is'Showtime'. Pettis has stopped in his last four fights Gilbert Melendez, Benson Henderson, Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon. All that should tell you what kind of form the champ is in. he just looks unbeatable and dos Anjos will need to pull out a massive upset to bring home the belt.
Prediction: Pettis by submission
