Dominic Wooding promises to leave Charter Hall this weekend with the BCMMA flyweight title around his waist

Taking place this weekend in Colchester, BCMMA are bringing their 9th MMA show to Charter Hall with a card stacked full of amateur and pro fights. There are title's on the line in both ranks and one fighter who is looking to win one is the highly touted amateur flyweight prospect Dominic Wooding.

Wooding (7-1) takes on Connor Hitchens for the 125lb belt in a bid to further cement himself as one of the top UK amateur flyweights.

The 18 year old who fights out of MMA Terror Squad has created quite a lot of hype from his performances so far, especially given at how young he is.

Wooding last fought at Shinobi War III against John Shink for the promotions amateur flyweight title, losing for the first time. Wooding accepts that just wasn't his night:

"That night just weren't my night, a few things didn't go well leading up to the fight and on the day of the fight, but it was what it was, John Shink was the better man and fought a great fight in there and beat me fair and squar".

And although he lost his "0" ,he believes the experience will make him a better fighter.

"That loss was a just a little hiccup/lesson in my journey, in order to make me a better mixed martial artist"  Says Wooding.

He was then scheduled to fight for another amateur title at FCC 11 in October but unfortunately the champion Aaron Robinson was forced to withdraw through illness. The young flyweight is however still hungry for that match up in the near future.

"Yeah 100%, because I'm officially still the #1 contender for the FCC Flyweight title"

He fights Connor Hitchens for the title Saturday night in Colchester and he couldn't be more confident of the task ahead of him.

"I don't know too much about him. I've only seen a couple of footages of his fights after it got confirmed that I was fighting him. From what I've seen, he's basic, and hasn't fought guys with the type of abilities I have, I believe"

Supreme confidence indeed from the London fighter but what does he credit for this confidence and belief? "My mind frame, my dedication & my team (Family, coaches, team mates & manager)"

With a 7-1 record already in his amateur career, how much longer will it be until we can see him in the professional ranks? "2015" he states.

He couldn't be more assuring in how his prediction for how Saturday night will pan out for him either.

"Me leaving Charter Hall (in Colchester), with the BCMMA flyweight belt around my waist for sure"

Strong words from the highly rated prospect and with such high confidence, who can blame him?

Wooding would like to thank the following in the build up to the fight:

"I'd like to thank my family first, all my coaches, my management (Elite MMA Agency), and last but not least, my sponsors (Bureaulogic Recruitment)"
