BattleZone FC works for the first time with Safe MMA for tomorrow's BattleZone FC 12 in The Regency Hotel in Dublin, Ireland.
Two professional bouts were originally scheduled for the predominantly Amateur show with one now scratched from the card due to injury. The competitors for the remaining professional fight, Mick Brennan vs. Stephen Coll, have been approved as fit for participation by the independent medical organisation.
All other competitors across the card will also undergo Safe MMA pre and post fight medicals; and BattleZone has pledged that on-site medical care will meet Safe MMA stipulations.
Promoter, Andy Ryan, said:
"BattleZone FC is delighted to be working with Safe MMA to promote fighter safety, which should be the cornerstone of the sport. As a promotion we have a duty of care to fighters and it's great to be able to unify over this important issue with other promoters under the Safe MMA banner."SAFE MMA Ireland ambassadors, fighter Aisling Daly and Professor Dan Healy said:
"Safe MMA is about reducing avoidable risk. Protecting professional fighters is one fundamental responsibility of all promotions. This weekend BattleZone joins Cage Warriors and Euro Fight Night as another Irish promotion pays this respect to fighters"
