Brett Caswell (5-1) believes his opponent Marcin Lasota (8-0) will be running into a world of trouble when they meet at Cage Warriors 73, November 1st at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.
The Gym01 fighter rebounded from his first ever professional loss in style when he submitted Spencer Hewitt back at Cage Warriors 69, improving his CWFC record to 2-0. Now he faces his toughest test to date when he squares off against the undefeated Lasota.
Caswell asked for this fight as he knows a win pushes him one step closer to a shot at the vacant Flyweight title, he said: "Getting a win over Marcin Lasota will push me right up to the top five or six in the UK and hopefully into the top 10 in Europe and get me on the next Cage Warriors title fight."
Another bout on this card that will have a heavy impact on the Flyweight title picture comes in Shaj Haque against Damien Rooney, and Caswell was complimentary of both men: "The winner out of both these fights will undoubtedly fight for the vacant title. I think that Shaj has got very good cardio, he's got good striking but I think he lacks the power element.
He added: "Damien Rooney's ground game is very good as well. I think the way that fight plays out will be Damien Rooney maybe picking up the submission win or if it goes to decision I think Shaj takes it just through outworking."
You can listen to the entire interview right here, Caswell talks more about his upcoming fight with Lasota, recovering from his first defeat and his rode to a potential title shot.
