Following an impressive 2nd round TKO victory over former UFC lightweight title contender, Gray Maynard on Saturday's UFC Fight Night 47, Ross Pearson has entered the UFC's top 15 lightweight rankings.

A 13 fight UFC veteran, 29-year-old Ross Pearson from Sunderland makes his debut in the UFC's official lightweight rankings at number 14. Pearson is arguably enjoying the best spell of his 10 year career, going 3-1-1 in his last 5 fights including knock out victories over Gray Maynard, Ryan Couture, and George Sotiropoulos, with the only blip on his record being a controversial decision loss to Diego Sanchez, a bout which has since been deemed as one of the biggest robberies of all time, with fans, UFC officials, and media members alike widely considering the bout a victory of Pearson. Pearson also has a no decision to Melvin Guillard during this time, where Pearson was hit with an illegal knee in their bout and could not continue.

Following his most recent victory over Maynard, Pearson declared he is ready for a top ten opponent but will now concentrate on on his upcoming wedding to UFC octagon girl Kristie McKeon. His most recent opponent Maynard is hanging on by a thread in the top 15 in last place following 3 TKO losses in a row.
