Dubai kickboxing promotion Global Fighting Championships have announced their return on October 16th at the Aviation Club, Dubai featuring a star-studded line up including Bahr Hari taking on Patrice Quarteron in the main event, and a 4-man Heavyweight tournament with a 1 million dirhams (£165,000) prize for the winner featuring Melvin Manhoef.

After a proposed bout between Hari and Quarteron fell through in 2011 - Hari claims Quarteron refused to fight him, the two will now square off in Dubai with Quarteron challenging Hari through an instagram post, a challenge which Hari accepted.

Fresh off his Global FC 3 heavyweight tournament victory where he defeated Stefan Leko and Peter Graham in one night to win the 1 million dirhams prize pot, Hari looks to extend his win streak to 4 when he takes on Quarteron in October.

Widely considered one of the best Heavyweight in the world, Hari holds notable victories over Gokhan Saki, Anderson Silva, Alistair Overeem, Semmy Schilt, Errol Zimmerman, and Peter Aerts, amongst others. With a career record of 104 wins, 12 losses, Hari has come under fire over the last year by fans who want to seen the Moroccan fight under the Glory World Series banner. It has been said Hari is only interested in taking big money fights at this stage of his career, rather than face some of the best in the world.

His opponent French Muay Thai specialist, Patrice Quarteron fights for the first time under the Global Fighting Championships banner. Currently riding a 9 fight win streak, Quarteron holds a record of 38 career wins, with 5 losses. 32 of his victories coming inside the distance.

A former I.K.F. Muay Thai Super Heavyweight World Champion, EMF/WMF European Heavyweight Thaiboxing champion, and A1 world champion, Quarteron holds notable victories over Brice Guidon, Ashwin Balrak, and Rick Cheek, however a victory over Hari would easily represent the biggest victory of his career.

The event will also play host to a 4-man Heavyweight tournament for 1 million dirhams featuring Melvin Manhoef vs. Hassan and Ismael Lazaar vs. Tai Tuivasa.
